Reflection:
Describe the process, or workflow, you went through to create these images?
The workflow i went through was to just think of how i was feeling and take a picture or to think of how that object or thing made me feel and capture it. Two of the photos where taken on my phone and they are the ones with the sunflower and the lock. I edited them in light room with the brush giving only part of the picture touches it needed.
How were you able to capture the emotions you were feeling each day?
I was able to capture my feelings by thinking about them and then finding something that fit what i was feeling and captured it.
How close did you get to capturing the emotions you felt in your photographs?
Pretty close i feel every photo make me feel the description i wrote for them.
Did the emotions you were feeling stay the same, or were they different each day?
They where different each day but they weren’t just one emotion for the whole day either, to take the picture i had to choose one of the emotions i was feeling.
Do you see a progression in these photographs? How do the photos change from the first image to the last?
No i don’t see progression in the photos, they change randomly.
Is there a story to it, it’s ok if there isn’t. What patterns do you see emerge as a series of photographs? Is there a pattern or are the photos random?
They’re partial stories for some of these like the marathon is something Lebron, Isiah Thomas, Dwayne wade says a lot so i think about it sometimes.
The football photo is just the story me playing and remembering playing and thinking about football in the future.
How similar/dissimilar is the editing in these photographs?
They are kind of similar i raised the contrast and vibrancy on most of them and on the marathon photo i raised the clarity and detail on some of the photos like the sunflower, marathon, and lock photos i used the brush in light room to only edit some parts of the photo.
Explain how you were able to enhance the mood of the photographs with photoshop or lightroom?
I was able to enhance the mood of the photographs by making certain parts of the photo pop out more, like with the sunflower i made everything around it darker to get a sadder feel but made the sunflower pop so the viewer can see its beauty .
How did Strong’s examples help you in creating the imagery ?
they helped me see that the photo can be of anything and to look at every thing in a setting to scan and see if anything makes me feel a certain way or fit the way i’m feeling
How well do your final images reflect the specific emotion?
I feel they all do a good job reflecting the feeling but i think the marathon and sunflower photos do the best job reflecting the emotions and the others can interpreted differently by anyone for example the look could make someone feel trapped but it can also make someone feel focused more likely if they play sports cause of the saying “locked in”.
What could you have done to make sure that the viewer gets the specific emotion without reading the word?
make some things pop out more but other than that they would have to have similar experiences with me like playing football, having a sad connection with a flower, etc
What did you learn about the art of taking pictures as a result of working on this project?
I learned you take pictures of anything and find some sort of emotion.
Do you think your photo series a good story?
Yeah i think they’re good stories but probably even better if you have things in common with me
What would you do differently if you could do it all again?
I would try and find more things that make me feel some sort of way.
What are you most proud of?
I’m proud of all the photos but i would say i’m most proud of the sunflower, football, and marathon b/c make me feel the most emotion.
